"This was the 6th successful test in the cement tank. Next time I will test the submarine in a wide lake," said entrepreneur Nguyen Quoc Hoa, who built the ship.

The trial took place in the presence of many people and representatives of the Department of Science and Technology of Thai Binh province and the Naval Engineering Institute of Hai Phong.

A witness said: "It's great! Previously I still doubted but I now believe that the ship can dive and resurface," he said.

The test took place from 1pm to 3.30pm in a cement tank of 4.5 m deep, 10 m long and 3.7 m wide.

Hoa said initially he "performed" by controlling the submarine to dive and then resurface and continue to dive and resurface until the end of the test.

Since the Lunar New Year, Hoa and his colleagues fixed some technical and aesthetic disadvantages of the ship.

Some parameters were also reduced to ensure safety, such as having the submarine run for nearly 100 km, reducing the speed to 10 nautical miles/hour, which makes the dive time about 3 to 5 hours only.
