Vietnam's top chess player - Grand Master Le Quang Liem and Miss Vietnam World 2010 Ngo Phuong Lan will represent Vietnam at the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay in Manchester, the United Kingdom in June 2012.  
Liem was invited to join the event even though no chess events will be held at the Olympics. Liem and Phuong Lan Lan will join the rally along with more than 100 outstanding individuals from around the world.

The two Vietnamese representatives are very popular for their remarkable achievements and great contributions to the country.

The torch relay is one of the traditional events held before the Olympic Games officially open.

This year, 8,000 torchbearers will carry the Olympic torch for 70 days through more than 1,000 cities, towns and villages in the UK before returning to London and lighting the Olympic flame at the opening ceremony on July 27.
