The official website of World Choir Games has published the final results of this year competition. In the “Virtual choir - Video clip A Cappella” category, Saigon Choir won with the highest rating of Excellent for its video “Nang Co Con Xuan”.

Each member of Saigon Choir made his or her own video, which was then combined into one video. The choir chose the song “Nang Co Con Xuan” by Duc Tri, with choral arrangement by Truong Chi and conducted by Huynh Quang Thai, the founder of Saigon Choir.

The choir selected this song to introduce the material of Vietnamese folk music to international friends.

In 2017, the choir won the Gold Award for Mixed Chamber Choir at the Vietnam International Choir Competition 2017 in Hoi An, Vietnam.

Saigon Choir was established in June 2016 by the Faculty of Vocal Music of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music. The choir has more than 60 regular active members and irregular members, totaling about 100 people.

In five years of operation, Saigon Choir has held six private concerts and participated in many large-scale art shows.

"This is the first time for Vietnam to compete at the World Choir Games (Saigon Choir and Olympia School Choir). We are proud and happy. We believe this victory will motivate domestic choirs to reach out to the world in the future," a representative of Saigon Choir told VietNamNet.

World Choir Games is the world's largest choir competition, known as the Olympics of choir music. The contest is held every two years as an opportunity for hundreds of choirs around the world.

The 11th World Choir Games 2020 was postponed because of the Covid-19 epidemic. This year it was held in Flanders, Belgium from October 30 to November 7.

Local artist to represent Vietnam at MTV Europe Music Awards

Vietnamese artist Nguyen Bao Khanh is set to represent the nation by competing for the title of Best Southeast Asia Act at the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards, or the MTV EMA, which is scheduled to take place in Budapest, Hungary, later this year.
