Palm-leaf conical hats, known in Vietnam as “Non La” have recently featured in a fashion show for Italian brand TL-180.
Tbilisi Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018 has drawn the participation of famous designers and their unique collections. Among them is Italian brand TL-180 whose accessories are inspired by Vietnamese conical hats. Vietnamese conical hats are matched with a variety of outfits. The designs are a fusion of Western culture and Asian tradition. An image of the Vietnamese conical hat appeared in Vogue magazine. TL-180 fashion brand was founded by designers Luisa Orsini and Antonine (Tine) Peduzzi. For seven years, the designs of TL-180 have featured in many famous fashion magazines including Vogue, L’Officiel, Harper’s Bazaar, W Magazine, and Elle. In 2015, Vietnamese conical hats were worn on the stage for KTZ’s show during London Fashion Week. In Sao Paulo Fashion Week 2013 in Brazil, a collection from Neon used accessories inspired by Vietnamese conical hats in an array of impressive colours and materials. Pictured is a design by Honey fashion house in New York Fashion Week 2017, it is inspired by Non Quai Thao (a kind of conical hat with fringes hanging on both sides). In recent years Asian culture has provided a wealth of inspiration for designers around the world. |
