In the Pre-Arrival Hot Picks by Crown Talk, the Vietnamese beauty was placed in 17th position behind the Southeast Asian representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
A contestant from the Czech Republic took the lead, followed by those from Colombia, England, India, and South Africa.
At present, as many as 130 countries have confirmed that they will send contestants to this year’s pageant, which is scheduled to take place in New Delhi and Mumbai from February 18. The grand finale is due to be held in Mumbai on March 9.
Phuong, 23, beat 36 other contestants on the final night of the Miss World Vietnam 2022 pageant last August, claiming top prize and representing Vietnam in the 71st Miss World pageant.
The local girl stands at 1.70 metres tall and measures 82-63-92 cm. She currently works as an emcee, appearing on numerous television programmes.
In recent years, Vietnamese representatives have gained several prizes at the Miss World pageant. Indeed, Luong Thuy Linh reached the Top 12 in 2019 and Do Thi Ha was placed among the Top 13 finalists in 2021.
India previously hosted the beauty contest in 1996. During the 70-year history of the global pageant, Indian beauties have been crowned Miss World six times. Most recently, Manushi Chhillar won the 2017 Miss World title.
