Truc Diem and Miss International 2011.
After the evening gown performance, they showed off their beauty in traditional costumes and swim wear. The jury then announced the top 15 and contestants answered the jury one by one.
Vietnam’s Truong Tri Truc Diem was named among the top 15 girls, besides contestants from Brazil, Ecuador, Latvia, Lebanon, Mongolia, Netherlands, Panama, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Sweden, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela. However, she failed to enter the next round.
Many people were disappointed with this result because Truc Diem was an outstanding contestant from the beginning. She attracted the attention of the local media and audience. Before the final night, many Vietnamese newspapers expected that Truc Diem would be crowned Miss International 2011.
Vietnam began sending its representative to the world’s fourth largest beauty contest in 1995. That year Truong Quynh Mai entered the top 15 and won the Best National Costume. This has been the best result for Vietnam so far.
In 2007 and 2008, Pham Thuy Duong and Cao Thuy Duong won the Miss Internet Popularity title. Last year Chung Thuc Quyen did not earn any title.
Previously, Truc Diem won Miss Fashion at the Miss Earth 2007 pageant.
The two runners-up are Miss Venezuela - Jessica Barboza – and Miss Mongolia - Tugsuu Idersaikhan.
The jury also presented other titles: Miss Friendship to the representatives of Hawaii and Mexico, Miss Photogenic to Miss Venezuela, Miss Talent to Miss China, Best National Costume to Miss Thailand, Miss Internet Popularity to Miss Philippines, Miss Elegance to Miss Russia, Miss Panda Angle to Miss Latvia, Miss Active to Miss Pueto Rico, Miss Expressive to Miss Zimbabwe, Miss Beauty and Best Figure to Miss Ecuador.
