Nguyen Da Quyen said that the exhibition is set up as a pop-up art concept that started in New York in 2007, which is less formal than a gallery or museum but more formal than private artistic showing of work.

The event aims to bring audiences more surprises and freedom to think about all the artworks which feature popular games of Vietnamese kids, like kite flying, rope jumping, marbles’ playing and o an quan - a traditional kind of board game.

Spectators might see popular strokes of Quyen via her colorful and lively paintings to represent the happiness of people’s childhood.

Christopher Skouenborg will use his photos in black and white with some colors in small details to emphasize the spirit of the artworks.

The duo aims to deliver a message of enjoying life from simple things and taking control of one’s life instead of being passively controlled in a game.

The exhibition will run until January 15 at the French-style house at 69 Ngo Tat To street in HCM City’s Binh Thanh District.
