Under the theme “Armonia”, the show featured three collections of ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress), wedding dresses and evening gowns by Hai, who said that the outfits are inspired by beautiful landscapes of both Vietnam and Italy.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Duong Hai Hung said the fashion show is expected to help popularise Vietnam - a country with a rich cultural identity and friendly Vietnamese people to Italian friends as well as strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Veneto region and the city of Venice.
Paola Mar, Director of the Heritage Department of Venice city, said that the event is significant to Venice, one of the world's cultural and fashion centres in the context of the two countries celebrating 50 years of bilateral ties.
Vietnam is a developing country with a lot of potential for cooperation for international businesses, including Italian businesses, and fashion is one of the areas where the two countries can cooperate to promote their relationship, she told Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Italy.
Earlier on June 15, the Vietnamese Ambassador held a working session with teachers and students of the Vietnamese Faculty of Ca’Foscari University where he provided them with updated information about Vietnam and the relationship between the two countries.
