The two young fashion designers will compete against their peers from other Asian countries. The competition, first organised by the magazine Harper's Bazaar in 2013, aims to create opportunities for young designers who are on track to join the international fashion industry.

"I'm very excited and hope that I will confirm my spot in the Asian market, and then conquer the international market," Hung said.

Hung brings materials together to make sophisticated outfits, and his cuts match global trends without losing their uniqueness.

His success in Project Runway Vietnam motivated Hung to establish his own brand, Maison Des Copains.

His collections include Su Chuyen Dong Cua Nhung Canh Hoa (The Movements of Petals, which debuted in the finale of Vietnam's Next Top Model 2013), Kinh Van Hoa Xuan (Spring Kaleiscope) and Modern Bloom.

Lam was the only female fashion designer to make it to the finale of Project Runway Vietnam 2014. Lam's designs show that she can handle intricate tailoring and refined cuts.

"I participated in the contest with all my passion and enthusiasm for fashion," Lam said. "I'm lucky to be able to challenge myself by competing with my international peers."

Lam and Hung will also have the opportunity to work with a jury of Asian fashion industry leaders and photographers. The contestants will be judged by their creativeness and sense of aestheticism.

The competition's winner will present his or her collections in editions of Harper's Bazaar in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Viet Nam.

The winner will also earn a scholarship for a Master's course in Fashion and Luxury Brand Management at the Instituto Marangoni in London, in addition to other prizes.
