Xuan-Thu Nguyen, a Dutch-Vietnamese designer and owner of design house Xuan in French capital Paris, will open the Vietnam International Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017 in HCMC from April 25 to 28.

Nguyen is the first designer of Vietnamese descent to become a member of France’s Haute Couture Federation, together with other renowned figures like Armani, Elie Saab, Versace, Valentino Béatrice Demulder Ferrant, Hervé L. LeRoux, Georges Hobeika and Zuhair Murad.

The graduate of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute arrived in France in 2005, and she began showing her haute couture creations at the Paris Fashion Week in July 2008. 

Her designs are known for their contemporary cuts infused with a touch of poetry, geometrical shapes and hand-made embroidery patterns.

The event will feature 20 shows by local and foreign fashion designers. 

Fashionista will have the opportunity to show their best styles and win tickets to the shows.
