vietnamese fairytale-inspired stamp set for release picture 1

The fairytale which is familiar to many Vietnamese people tells a story of a wealthy landowner who fools his young servant. The landowner promises to reward the servant with marriage to his daughter if he works hard enough for three years.

Later the landowner breaks his promise by offering his daughter to another man. When the servant complains, the landowner asks the servant to go and seek a bamboo tree with 100 joints if he wants to marry his daughter. The servant wins in the end.

The stamp set is like a short and concise fairytale, illustrated with an array of vibrant colours.

Designed by artist Le Khanh Vuong, the collection includes a 32 x 43 mm stamp and a 90 x 70 mm block.

The prices of the three stamps and a block are VND4,000, VND6,000, and VND10,500, respectively.

The latest collection set will be available on the postal network from June 1 and will be available until December 31, 2025.

Earlier, the Vietnam Post Corporation released many stamp collections featuring fairy tales and legends, including “Truyền thuyết Lạc Long Quân - Âu Cơ” (Legend of Lac Long Quan - Au Co) in 2000, “Truyền thuyết Mai An Tiêm” (Legend of Mai An Tiem) in 2021, and “Cây khế” (The Star Fruit Tree) in 2022.
