Being held at the Phu Tho Stadium, the long-expected event drew more than 30,000 people.
They went to the stadium from 1pm. After several hours standing under the sun, some fans began to faint at 6.30pm. Guards immediately brought them out of the crowd.
After that, more and more people swooned. Some were stampeded by the crowd and wounded. The organizing board had to spray water onto the crowd.
The show was halted for nearly one hour to save victims. Many people who took their kids to the event immediately left the stadium.
Most of the fainted people were girls.
“It is not new that Vietnamese fans get crazy because of Korean idols, but this is the first time I witnessed this terrible scene,” says Hoang Giang, from Tan Binh district.
Two year ago, at the MTV Exit concert in Hanoi, which had the participation of another Korean band – Super Junior, over 20 people fainted.
On April 13, extreme Vietnamese fans made Big Bang’s boys scared when they welcomed their idols at the Tan Son Nhat Airport.
