VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese farmer-scientists brought a no-motor rice transplanter, solar-fueled tourist boat, and grapefruits with Vietnam maps to Techmart 2015, the country’s largest annual technological fair.

During the four-day exhibition of the International Techmart Vietnam 2015 (Techmart 2015) 463 cooperation agreements and memorandum of understanding (MOUs) were signed, and thousands of technological purchase transaction with total cost of VND 380,6 billion were made.

At Ho Chi Minh City’s stalls, transactions of equipment, science and technology solutions directly and scheduled-delivery reached VND 6 billion and VND 6, 8 billion respectively.

The four-day exhibition aims to promote further not only to the development of domestic and regional technology markets, cooperation between scientific research organizations and enterprises but also to the commercialization of science and technology products.




Mr. Chu Van Quynh from Bac Giang province introduced his corn seeding machine to visitors at the fair. The machine is 30 cm wide, 50 cm long, 60 cm high, weighing about 8 kg without motor. Users pick corncobs to put into the machine to have pitted corns. The simple machine is priced for only VND1.5 to VND2.2 million ($70-$100).


 


The non-motor rice transplanter designed by farmer Tran Dai Nghia from Thai Binh province. The machine works simply. Users control the wheel by one hand and the other hand controls the transplant device. The machine can transplant rice seedlings on 360sq.m of land in one hour. The machine does not need fuel so it is friendly to the environment. It can work on all terrain, including terraces. 


 


The 8 in 1 multifunction machine designed by farmer Ta Dinh Huy from Chuong My District, Hanoi, with the following functions: plowing, harrowing, milling, making beds, pumping water, weeding, spraying pesticide and making rows for sowing.


 


The straw scrolling machine invented by farmer Phan Tan from Dong Thap province. Each day, two workers operating the machine can clean up straw on 4 hectares of land. 


 


Mr. Phan Trung Dat (from Dong Thap) brought a straw unraveling machine to the fair, which can help farmers in one hour unravel a volume of straw as much as the amount that they manually do in one month.


 


Handy products for farmers were also introduced at the fair. This is a tree cutting scissors invented by Le Phuoc Loc from Tien Giang province. 


 


Tourist boat powered by solar energy designed by four farmers: Huynh Thien Liem, Huynh Van Trang, Thai Van Hoang, and Nguyen Van Dung from Dong Thap province. The boat is 1.4 m long, 1.3 m wide, 40 cm high, consisting of two solar panels, engines, and two batteries. The boat can run 20 km/h. 


 


Vietnamese farmers also transformed agricultural products and fruits to sell at high prices. This is a grapefruit with the map of Vietnam of farmer Vo Trung Thanh from Hau Giang province. This product will be sold during the lunar New Year 2016.


 

Out-of-season Lai Vung mandarin season of farmer Le Ngoc Bich from Dong Thap. Normally, this variety yields fruits only once a year, but Bich improved the farming method to harvest two crops a year.
