Vietnamese football star Huynh Nhu (middle) is playing for Lank FC.

After playing for the Vietnamese national women’s football team at the 2023 World Cup, Huynh Nhu returned to Portugal to negotiate a new contract with Lank FC. The two sides have recently agreed to extend the contract for another year.

Huynh Nhu's salary was not disclosed, but it is likely higher than the 1,500 euros per month she got previously.

In her first year playing for Lank FC, Huynh Nhu became the FC’s second key scorer with a total of seven goals, including five goals at the national league and two at the Portuguese Cup.

After her impressive performance in Portugal, along with Huynh Nhu's performance at the recent World Cup, Lank FC's leaders decided to keep the 22-year-old striker for another year.

After signing the new contract, Huynh Nhu will begin preparing for the new season in September. On September 17, Lank will play the first match against Sporting Lisbon.

Huynh Nhu may not be able to return home to join the Vietnamese women's team at the upcoming Asian Games.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is trying to convince Lank FC to allow Huynh Nhu to return home for the Asian Games.
