VietNamNet Bridge – Two film projects by female director Hoang Diep were introduced at the Busan International Film Festival 2011, the leading film fest in Asia.
They are “Dap canh giua khong trung” (Flapping in the middle of Nowhere) and “Cha, con va…” (Big Father, Small Father and Other Stories). Both are not filmed yet. For the first project, Diep has just finished casting. The second project will be filmed next June.

Diep is the director and script writer of “Flapping in the middle of nowhere” and co-producer with director Phan Dang Di in the second project.

Both projects participated in the Ties That Bind program of the Busan Film Festival 2011 in Busan on October 10-13. This program brought together five producers with feature projects from Asia and five from Europe.

During the two workshops, they worked together with experts from both continents on script development, co-production between Asia and Europe, financing in the two regions, legal aspects of co-production, marketing, pitching and promotion, and meet with decision makers during both sessions.  The 10 selected producers worked on the development and financing of their projects under the guidance of top industry professionals from both continents.

Diep is now in South Korea. She will return to Vietnam on October 15. She is director of several TV series.
