Axie Infinity has become a hot topic of discussion these days on game and cryptocurrency forums and groups. The project has seen the sharpest price increases among the 100 cryptocurrencies with the highest capitalization value in the market.

The AXS price has increased by three times since early July, from $5.1 to $16.7. This has pushed Axie Infinity’s capitalization value from $332 million to $992.7 million as of July 7 evening, and turned Axie Infinity into a rare Vietnamese cryptocurrency project that has nearly hit the $1 billion threshold.

Axie Infinity is a Pokémon inspired game. The universe of this game revolves around pets with the common name Axies. Players need to collect, nurture and let these Axies fight with each other to build a kingdom for their pets.

Axie Infinity is not a normal game, but is developed on the basis of Blockchain technology, an Ethereum-based digital marketplace. Axie Infinity players are rewarded based on their contribution to the ecosystem.

Unlike normal games, players can earn money by breeding their own Axies pets to sell in the market, or letting Axies participate in battles to compete for positions on the leaderboards. That's why Axie Infinity can attract a large number of players.

AXS is sold for $13.6 now on large cryptocurrency marketplaces, which means many players can make money from the game. This partially explains why Axie Infinity has become a global phenomenon.

In order to join the world of Axie Infinity, new players have to buy first Axies as their capital. Under the rule of the game, players must have at least three Axies to start.

According to Axie Infinity white book, the game was developed by Sky Mavis, a game studio established in 2018.

The group of developers comprises 25 members located in HCMC. The CEO, Art Director and Game Designer of Axie Infinity are all Vietnamese. This is a 100 percent Vietnamese made game.

The success of Axie Infinity has reminded people of the Vietnamese game Flappy Bird, which became very well known in the global market some years ago.
