Vi takes silver, bronze at wushu champs

Southeast Asian Games gold medallist Vi took her silver in the women's qiangshu (spear) event, while Lai Xiao Xiao of China won the gold and the bronze went to Honda Ayaka of Japan.

Earlier, Vi bagged a bronze in the women's changquan (long fist). The gold and silver medals went to Geng Xiaoling and Liu Xuxu of Hong Kong.

The five-day event drew the participation of 904 athletes and officials from 73 delegations.

It is the official world championships hosted by the International Wushu Federation. It takes place biennially and features the highest competitive level within the sport. It will finish tomorrow, Nov 18.

Ha Noi triumph in canoeing, rowing event

Ha Noi team triumphed at the National Canoeing and Rowing Championships that finished in the northern port city of Hai Phong on Sunday.

The team won 20 gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals.

In canoeing alone, Ha Noi took 13 golds, 11 silvers and three bronzes, followed by Vinh Phuc with four golds, four silvers and one bronze.

Nearly 270 athletes competed in 53 categories for both men and women.

LienvietPostBank win second round match

LienvietPostBank won their second round match at the National Volleyball Championships in HCM City yesterday, Nov 16.

They easily beat Bai Bang Paper Mill 25-9, 22-25, 25-15.

Earlier, they defeated HCM City 25-17, 25-21, 25-10.

Bai Bang will next meet Rudico Hai Duong today, while LienvietPostBank will meet Tien Nong Thanh Hoa tomorrow, Nov 18.
