Hundreds of Vietnamese working and living in Germany on June 14 gathered at Berlin to protest against China's actions in the East Sea.
The demonstration opened with the commemoration of Vietnamese people protecting Vietnam's territorial claims to the islands and waters, and marched to the Chinese embassy in Berlin, where a letter of protest was read and calls were made for peace in the East Sea.
The participants held banners in both Vietnamese and German stating opposition to China's claims of sovereignty over the Spratly and Paracel archipelagos, and urged China to halt construction and reclamation activities in the East Sea.
Leaflets were distributed calling for signatures to send to the German parliament in support of Vietnam's claims.
