VietNamNet Bridge – While many examinees sighed with relief with the
literature exam question which asked to discuss about the admiration to idols, a
lot of other students, who are the “crazy fans” of South Korean pop singers
(K-pop) got furious with the question.
An association of the
students, who protest the ministry’s exam question, has also been set up on
Facebook
A lot of students felt happy with the question, saying that they have “a lot of
materials” to write about the topic.
“This is a burning social problem now for the youth. I know a lot of young girls
and boys, who idolize singers, models and actors so crazily that they refuse to
eat and learn just because of them,” a student, who attended the entrance exams
to the Hanoi University, said.
An examinee who attended the exam to the Hanoi University of Foreign Trade, also
said that the Ministry of Education and Training “had every reason” to give such
an exam question. “A lot of my friends are passionately fond of South Korean
singers and actors. They try to do everything in imitation of their idols. They
dress, live and think like the portraits in the South Korean films do,” the
examinee noted.
“Therefore, I think that this is the chance for the youth to speak out their
thoughts about the admiration to idols. It’s time to warn about the phenomenon
of “going mad on idols” which has been spread out among teenagers,” she
continued.
The student wrote on her essay that this should be seen as a worrying problem of
the youth. “As they are crazy about the idols, they always live in a “virtual”
world and spend all of their time to think about the idols, while they do not
care about their actual life, about parents, society and about what they should
do to grow up into good citizens of the society,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, some students, who call themselves as the “authentic fans” of South
Korean actors and singers, used discourteous words to criticize the Ministry of
Education and Training for giving such an exam question. An association of the
students, who protest the ministry’s exam question, has also been set up on
Facebook.
A female student wrote that the ministry has “abused indirectly” the people who
admire South Korean K-pop. She threatened to behead all the people who dare to
speak scornfully of the K-pop. She also said that she only wrote down a sentence
on the exam paper, protesting the exam question and left the exam room.
Meanwhile, a male student wrote he did not regret for leaving the exam paper
blank, though this means that he would fail the exams.
“I would be able to attend the university entrance exams once more, the next
year. But I will not accept any one who speak ill of my idols. My love to SuJu
is forever. I love you,” he wrote.
Even the students, who are the friends of the crazy fans, have got shocked when
reading the entries on Facebook. A member with the nickname Chim Cu said the
crazy fans are really the “tragedies” that examinees can refer to when writing
their essays.
“The crazy fans have wasted their parents’ money when spending their time on
such useless works,” the member noted.
“This is what the students have learnt after the 12-year period at school? It’s
terrible,” another member wrote, who introduced himself as “over 18 years old.”
