Eight drawings taken by Vietnamese kids have won big prizes at the – Mitsubishi Asian Children's Enikki Festa 2015-2016 – competition, reports the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Duong Quynh Huong from the Khuong Thuong Primary School received the highest prize, which is an all-expense paid round trip to Japan, while fellow Hanoian Tran Chau Anh also received a valuable prize from the Mitsubishi Public Affairs Committee for her drawing.

Tran Bao Ngoc from Le Hong Phong Primary School in Thai Binh Province received a prize from the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan while schoolmate Nguyen Mai Trang won an award from the Asia-Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations.

Meanwhile four drawings of Duong Tu Anh from Hai Phong, Nguyen Quang Anh, Nguyen Phuong Thao and Dang Thanh Trung from Hanoi were presented with outstanding awards at the competition.

This year's competition themed Here is My Life was launched in 24 Asian countries with the aim of creating an opportunity for children to understand the daily lives of Asian people via illustrated diaries created by other children throughout Asia.

It collected 685,502 works from 24 Asian countries.

In Vietnam, the competition invited kids aged 6-12 to draw on their favourite topics including daily life, friends, family, festivals, customs, learning, playing, hometowns and many more.

The organizing board received 11,750 drawings from children across the country and chose the eight best to submit to Japan for the final round of the competition.

This competition is jointly sponsored by the Mitsubishi Public Affairs Committee, the Asian Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations, and the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan.
