At a flower shop in Lotte Shopping Mall in Hanoi, a man purchased a bouquet of 99 Ecuador roses for his wife on March 7. The bouquet was priced at VND10 million (nearly $500). 

A meal at a luxurious restaurant with flowers, cake, and wine and live music was the choice of many people.

Ms. Phuong, manager of Restaurant Louis, a luxurious restaurant in Lang Ha (Hanoi) said the number of customers increased greatly before and on March 8.

Most of the customers selected king crabs. The price for a kilo of king crabs is VND4.3 million. A crab averages 3 kg in weight is enough for a meal for three. 

Shark fin soup was priced VND1.5 million ($70)/bowl.

A tray of three king crab soup was priced at VND3.6 million ($180). 

In HCM City, most luxury restaurants were also fully booked on the day.

On the the evening of March 7, Khai Silk restaurant offered a special seafood buffet for women. 

The menu included lobster, salmon, Japanese octopus, and seven kinds of imported oysters.
