The US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the UCLA Film & Television Archive will organize a program called “"New Voices from Vietnam" to introduce Vietnamese movies which were produced in recent years and a program to honor the famous Vietnamese movie director Dang Nhat Minh.
Dang Nhat Minh’s “Guava Season” and the most recently acclaimed movies in Vietnam will be introduced in the events.
Vietnamese young directors, including Phan Dang Di (Bi, don’t be afraid), Nguyen Phan Quang Binh (Floating life), Nguyen Vinh Son (Moon in the bottom the well), Bui Thac Chuyen (Lonely), Le Thanh Son (Clash), Phan Xine (Dog Day) and Stephane Gauger (The Owl and Sparrow) will not only bring their films to the US but will also talk with American audiences together with senior director Dang Nhat Minh.
Actor Dustin Nguyen and actress Do Thi Hai Yen, who played in Lonely and Floating Life, will join the Vietnamese delegation.
Vietnamese documentaries will also be screened on November 6 and 11.
