The Vietnamese passport shared its position with the likes of Bhutan, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Comoros Islands, Egypt, and Haiti.

People holding these passports enjoy visa-free access to a total of 55 countries and territories worldwide.

In Southeast Asia, the Vietnamese passport is more powerful than those of Laos and Myanmar, which rank 95th and 97th, respectively, although it is inferior to those of Malaysia in 12th, Singapore in first, Thailand in 66th, and the Philippines in 78th.

This year, Singapore, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain all shared the top position with the most powerful passport as their citizens enjoy visa-free entry to 194 global destinations.

The world’s weakest passports are those of Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, and Yemen.

The index ranks 199 global passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The index is subsequently updated in real time throughout the year, when visa policy changes take effect.

The Henley Passport Index has been issued by Henley & Partners, a global firm in residence and citizenship by investment, since 2005.

With historical data spanning a total of 18 years, the Henley Passport Index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association.
