Photojournalist Tran Viet Van is the only Vietnamese photographer to win a prize at the Moscow International Photo Awards 2014, according to the competition's website www.moscowfotoawards.com.

Photojournalist Tran Viet Van wins an award at the Moscow International Photo Awards for his series entitled: Greed Hatred and Delusion.

 

Van was placed second in the fine arts category, entitled "Portrait", for his photo series entitled Greed Hatred and Delusion.

Van said that his photos expressed the challenges that Buddhist monks have to overcome in their religious life. The photographer also won the photo awards' Honourable Mention for the Autumn of a War Commander (Editorial category).

The Moscow International Photo Awards is an ambitious and comprehensive annual competition for professional, non-professional and student photographers on a global level.

This year, the competition attracted thousands of entries from 79 countries.
