A photograph in the collection themed “SMILE, Make The World Happy” by Ba Han will be exhibited in Japan this November.


Two sets of photographs themed “SMILE, Make The World Happy” by Ba Han and “The Affection” by Minh Hien will be introduced to the public, helping both Japanese and international friends gain a greater understanding about the daily life of Vietnamese people.

Ba Han, 48, has had a special interest in Vietnamese youth ever since he befriended disabled youngsters. He has snapped many photos and released two photo books on the subject.

The photographer has exhibited his works in Japan, France, Italy, Iran, and the United States, and received plenty of notable awards, including the AFIAP (Artist of the International Federation of Photographic Art) award.

Ba Han has selected pieces he has shot for many years for the collection “SMILE, Make The World Happy”, featuring plenty of happy moments in life.

Meanwhile, photographer Minh Hien will bring white-and-black set of photographs to the event, depicting his own father's care for his sick grandfather.

In 1985, Higashikawa declared itself Japan’s Town of Photography and the world’s Culture Capital of Photography.

Higashikawa is a town where nature, culture, and people are able to meet through photography, with local authorities aiming to create a place that is open to people from all over the world and a town with a heartfelt photographic image.

As the Culture Capital of Photography, Higashikawa is working to create a town full of smiles by connecting people from all around the world through photography.

Previously, within the framework of cultural activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of joint diplomatic relations, the artworks of 25 Vietnamese photographers were exhibited during the Month of Photography Tokyo 2023 held in Tokyo in June and in Fukushima in September.
