Vietnamese swimmers won a silver medal and three bronze medals at the Asian Finswimming Championships in Taiwan on Sunday.

The silver went to quartet Do Dinh Toan, Nguyen Thanh Loc, Bui Dinh Kha and Nguyen Trung Kien, who finished second in the men's 4x200m surface event with a time of 5min 44.66sec.

The South Koreans took the gold, while mainland China claimed the bronze medal.

Earlier, Tran Thi Truc Linh won a bronze medal in the women's 400m immersion event, with a time of 3:09.14.

The winner of that event was Pei Yao Xin of China, followed by her teammate Sijia Chen.

The second bronze medal won by Vietnamese swimmers went to Dang Minh Hieu in the men's 400m immersion category.

China's Zhen Bo Tong and Yoon Young-joong of South Korea came first and second, respectively.

Viet Nam's third bronze medal was won by women's quartet Nguyen Thi Lan Vy, Nguyen Thi Giang, Dang Thi Minh Thuy and Trinh My Linh in the 4x200m surface pool event.

China won this event and set a new record of 6:12.07, while South Korea bagged the silver.

Viet Nam won their second gold in the Asian event for juniors at the same venue and time.

Le Thi Thu, Luu Thi Thanh Thu, Tran Thi Trang Diem and Hoang Thi Tam won the girls' quartet 4x200m surface.

South Korea came second, followed by the hosts, Chinese Taipei.

In the boys' class, Vietnamese swimmers finished second. South Korea won the gold, while the hosts took the silver medal.

The young Vietnamese competitors who claimed three bronze medals were Tran Thi Huyen Trang in the girls' 50m surface, Nguyen Van Dai in the boys' 50m surface and Dinh Ngoc Hiep in the girls' 50m bi-fin.
