The Lilama 2 Vocational Training College, the first Vietnamese school to be accredited as a member of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training, is providing free three-year trainings for students in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The college, located in Long Thanh district, offers international training programmes certified with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

After graduating, students will receive the British Accreditation Council’s qualifications which are accepted in 100 countries around the world.

Vice Rector of the College Le Quang Trung said that for the 2014-2015 academic year, the school has enrolled 175 students in mechanical tool manufacturing, industrial electronics and welding.

From now to 2016, the school plans to enrol an additional 400 students residing in Dong Nai.

Lilama 2, one of the first Centres of Excellence for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vietnam, has a total investment of 30 million EUR (37.6 million USD) funded by the German and French governments.

The college has also coordinated with Bosch Vietnam to carry out a pilot dual-training programme in Germany for 46 Vietnamese students to meet the increasing demand for skilled workers.
