Vietnam helps revitalize Cambodia: Hun Sen



Long Giao base in Cam My district, the southern province of Dong Nai, Vietnam was
the place where the Cambodian revolutionary armed forces was built. There Vietnam
assisted Cambodia to develop this force and together wiped out Pol Pot to liberate Cambodia.





On May 12, 1978, at Ram stream in Long Giao base, the Cambodian revolutionary armed
forces was established, with over 200 members, named Unit 125, led by Hun Sen,
 Cambodian Prime Minister at present.





Unit 125 is a starting point of Cambodia’s resistance movement prior to the founding
of the United Front for Salvation of Cambodian Motherland (December 2, 1978),
and then stepping forward to abolish the genocidal regime and revive the country.





High-ranking General Van Tien Dung, Chief of the general staff of the Vietnam
People’s Army, paid a visit to Unit 125.





In 1979, Vietnamese volunteer army and the Cambodian revolutionary forces
made attack to Phnom Penh.





Vietnamese and Cambodian armies captured many Khmer Rouge soldiers.
