Tran Thi Viet Huong, marketing manager of Vietravel, said the number of local tourists buying overseas tours at Vietravel last year rose by 145% from a year earlier, while domestic travellers increased 132%. Other travel companies also reported a growth rate of 15-25% on average for the number of domestic travelers buying foreign tours.
