VietNamNet Bridge – Le Ha Thanh Mai, a third-year student from the Singapore Management University (SMU) has been honoured by Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Mai was invited the PM’s office for a talk on Singapore’s National Day and the event appeared on local media during the week.
In his speech, which was broadcast live on many TV channels in Singapore, PM Loong described Mai as an outstanding and dynamic student who has impressed him deeply.
Mai has been studying in Singapore since the age of 15 on an ASEAN scholarship. She has achieved outstanding academic results and was asked to make a presentation on the integration of international students in Singapore.
She has participated in various community activities in Singapore and organized fact-finding tours to Vietnam for foreign students. She also called on international friends to support orphans in the central city of Hue and underprivileged people in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong.
Mai is currently Secretary of the SMU International Students’ Association.
