Vietnam ranks 5th worldwide in extra learning time.

The information was disclosed based on the ministry’s analysis of the 2012 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) test.

According to country director of PISA in Vietnam, Le Thi My Ha, the analysis results also show that Vietnamese students rank 7th in term of patience among 68 countries joining in the PISA test.

She said that these might be the reasons for these students to achieve high outcomes in contests. They try to finish almost questions of the tests, but many students from countries of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OEDC) may easily skip the questions they find difficult.

Ha also revealed that Vietnamese students’ parents’ knowledge stands at the 67th among countries in the test.

However, Vietnamese students only post the 67th among countries worldwide for the openness and flexibility to deal with a situation, she said.
