Authorities in Quang Ngai province have summoned seven students, aged 11 to 14, for questioning after they allegedly threw rocks at SE1 train, breaking two windshield windows and endangering passengers.

On March 16 at 4:30 PM, the SE1 train, traveling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, was passing km 932+900 in Tan Hoi Hamlet, Nghia Trung Commune when it was suddenly struck by rocks, shattering two window panels.

The Nghia Binh Railway Operations Branch (under the Vietnam Railways Corporation) reported the incident to Nghia Trung Commune Police, prompting an immediate investigation.

Using footage from the train’s surveillance cameras and information from local residents, police identified a group of seven students from local schools in Nghia Trung Commune as the culprits.

On March 17, authorities summoned the students along with their guardians for questioning. Three of the students admitted to throwing rocks at the train, while the others denied involvement.

The Nghia Trung Commune Police are continuing their investigation and coordinating with the Nghia Binh Railway Company to determine appropriate measures under the law.
