VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese students won eight medals at the 13th Asian Physics Olympiad in India last week, an event that drew the participation of pupils from 21 countries.

Le Huy Quang, a 12th grader from Lam Son Senior High School for Gifted Students in the northern province of Thanh Hoa, bagged a gold medal.

There were also five Vietnamese students securing silver medals, including 11th grader Ngo Phi Long from the northern mountainous province of Son La, and four 12th grade students: Dinh Ngoc Hai, Dinh Viet Thang, Nguyen Dinh Vinh Thanh from the northern provinces of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh and Vinh Phuc respectively and Tran Tan Hoang Bao from Da Nang City.

Two bronze medals were won by two 12th graders from Ha Noi and Nam Dinh Province. All the winners are students from schools for gifted students.

At last year's competition, the Vietnamese team took two bronze medals and three certificates of merit.
