Muay Thai kickboxers attend the founder’s birthday

The final game between Vietnam’s Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat, the champion of men’s 57kg category for 2010, 2011, and the world champion of men’s 60kg in 2011 Alexei Eltsov from Russia attracted the Thai and international media.
Nhat, who had just registered for the 60kg category, defeated the Russian rival by sharp kicks to be the champion. In the semi-final round, he trounced a Thai fighter, who ranked second at the world championship 2011.
The second gold medal for Vietnam was acquired by female fighter Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thang, after her Indian rival quit the final game in the middle for the unbalance of qualification.
In the final game for women’s 57kg category, Vietnam’s Phan Thi Ngoc Linh, who won a world gold medal in 2010, was defeated by Guathiere Cecile of France.
At the world amateur championships, Vietnamese fighters took two gold, one silver and seven bronze medals to rank second, after Russia.
At the world young championships, Vietnam won seven gold, one silver and seven bronze medals to rank first, followed by Thailand and Ukraina.
Today, March 21, four Vietnamese fighters – Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat (60kg), Phan Thi Ngoc Linh (57kg), Nguyen Phu Long (54kg) and Nguyen Huu Phuc (51kg) – will compete at the World Semi-amateur Muay Thai Championships.
