The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in partnership with online travel agency Vntrip.vn yesterday launched the #whyvietnam campaign to honour the nation’s tourism potential.

The campaign uses social media, technology and online marketing to promote Viet Nam’s nature, culture and people to the world, said Nguyen Thanh Huong, vice chairwoman of the VNAT.

"Each tourist will be an ambassador to promote Vietnamese tourism," she said.

The campaign, which runs until December 20, aims to inspire Vietnamese people and foreign tourists to share the best photos they took while travelling in the country. Each photo should have a caption explaining why they love Viet Nam.

Besides publishing the photos on their personal pages with #whyvietnam, participants can submit their photos to the website whyvietnam.com to win domestic tours.
