This is her second consecutive victory in the tournament. Two years ago, Ngân won a gold in the U44kg discipline.

She defeated Kafada Josipa of Canada 8-7 in the final match of the women’s U49kg category.

Ngan performed remarkably before entering the final.

The referee was forced to stop the first-round match in the second set due to a huge gap of 26-3 against Lama Ayasha from Nepal.

The next two rounds also saw Ngan’s domination against Portuguese Fariah Rafaela and Pirseyidova Sevda of Azerbaijan, winning 22-0 and 20-0, respectively.

In the quarter-finals, Ngan defeated Petrocchi Chiara from Aruba 23-20 before beating German Laura Goebel 10-6 in the last-four round.

Although the final against Josipa was challenging, 17-year-old Ngan emerged victorious.

The bronze medals went to Goebel of Germany and Kazarnovskaia of Russia.

Earlier this year, Ngan took a shot at the Youth Olympics in Argentina after entering the quarter-final of the 2018 Youth Olympic Games Qualification Tournament in the same venue, which concluded on April 7.

Prior to Ngan, Pham Ngoc Cham (women’s U46kg) and Pham Dang Quang (men’s U63kg) both lost at the world event.

The world tournament, which will wrap up on Friday, has welcomed more than 1,500 visitors from over 156 countries.
