VietNamNet Bridge – A baby of 6kg was born at HCM City’s Tu Du Hospital on February 2.



This is the heaviest baby born at the country’s largest obstetrical hospital for the last 20 years,
said Dr. Ngo Minh Xuan, head of the newborn baby ward.







The mother, Do Thi An, 31, lives in Tan Phu district, HCM City. She is healthy
and does not have any disease.






This is An’s second baby.





Her first son is 5 years old. He was 4.7kg at birth.






The largest baby ever recorded in Vietnam was born in Da Nang City
in 2006, weighing in at a whopping 6.5kg.







The Guinness Book of Records says the heaviest new-born ever recorded
weighed 10.8 kg, but only lived 11 hours.
