Ngoc Anh was a chemistry majoring student at a high school for the gifted and an economics majoring student at university. However, since childhood, Anh has loved crafts. Beautiful and lovely things always attracted her.

One day, on Instagram, she saw a photo of a baby girl wearing a handmade woolen cap.

At that time, Anh only knew knitting and had never heard about crochet.

However, she decided to continue. She searched for information about crochet on the internet and bought books to read. And her first product was made, with many mistakes. Anh took pictures of her daughter with a woolen cap and showed off the pictures to her friends.

She registered to join groups of people with the same passion and learn more from other members. She admitted that the first products were not good, but she still received compliments from other people who were always very polite.

At first, crochet was just a hobby which was done when she had free time. Her major task then was looking after her daughter. However, her French husband encouraged her to pursue her passion.

After making simple and small products such as caps, scarfs and bags, she began making stuffed animals and toy dolls. At first, she simply made things in a way that was explained in books. Later, she created products with her own ideas. 

Just six months later, Ngoc Anh launched her first crochet pattern.

Since Anh considers crocheting a serious job, she wanted to write her own books. With a clear target and increasingly high number of followers after she introduced new crochet patterns, she became more determined to follow through on her dream.

She could not imagine that just 10 months after learning crocheting she would receive invitations to write books from two publishing houses.

“I did not think that things would come so early. At that time, my Instagram account only had 10,000 followers (the figure now is 134,000) and I could design about 10 patterns only,” she said.

The biggest achievement Anh has had is the completion of two books in English and French, which have been translated into six other languages. She has also had many projects with magazines and wool companies to design woolen pets.
