Born on April 5, 1893, Tru leads a healthy life and lives with her youngest son, who is 72, in Da Phuoc Commune, Binh Chanh District. She gave birth to 11 children, but only four are alive.

Tru said the key to a long life is eating at the right time, cherishing the people around oneself and leading a simple but carefree life.

Tru received the certificate one month earlier than expected. Previously, the World Record Association recognized Tru as the oldest living woman in the world on April 23.

Together with the recognition of the World Record Association, the Vietnam Records Organization (Vietkings) has submitted the file of Mrs. Tru to the UK-based Guinness World Records and the India-based World Records Union.

If these organizations also recognize Tru’s record, the woman will be the first record maker in the world recognized by all three organizations. At present, these two organizations are examining Tru’s age.

Last August Mrs. Tru was recognized as the oldest living woman of Vietnam and Asia by the Vietnam Record Organization and the Asia Record Organization.
