The team lost to Mongolia 1.5-2.5.

Pham Le Thao Nguyen beat Nomin-Erdene Davaademberel. Hoang Thi Nhu Y tied with Enkhtuul Altan-Ulzii. While Hoang Thi Bao Tram and Nguyen Thi Mai Hung were defeated by Mongolian rivals.

With five wins and one loss, Viet Nam still led the women’s category with 18.5 points out of 10 teams, followed by China on 18 points.

Viet Nam will meet Uzbekistan in the next match.

In the men’s open division, Viet Nam easily bested the hosts UAE 3-1 to rank seventh out of 20 teams.

The tournament, which ends today, has been organised by the UAE Chess Federation under the auspices of the UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Asian Chess Federation.
