On the penultimate day of the Games, Can Tat Du stunned Southeast Asian audiences by overpowering Daniel Gabriel Thomas of Indonesia in the final match of the men’s 74kg freestyle wrestling category. His swift victory brought Vietnam its 85th gold medal of the tournament.
But the lightning-fast win was more than just another gold. It marked a new chapter in Vietnam's wrestling legacy.

With this triumph, Can Tat Du officially became a six-time SEA Games champion, making him one of the most decorated wrestlers in the history of the regional competition.
At 33 years old, he continues to perform at the highest level, showcasing not only superior strength and technique, but also exceptional mental toughness in decisive moments.
Born in Bung village (Phung Xa commune, former Ha Tay province), known as the cradle of traditional Vietnamese wrestling, Can Tat Du was raised among wrestling mats, holds, and a deeply rooted martial spirit.
Trained by his father, Can Tat Vinh, he embarked on a professional sports path at the age of 14 and quickly established his dominance in the 74kg weight class.

From the 2011 SEA Games to Bangkok 2025, Can Tat Du has consistently stood atop the podium, defeating every rival in the region.
