VietNamNet Bridge - Two Vietnamese youths have set off for the Worldwide Fund for Nature-initiated International Youth Tiger Summit in Vladivostok in eastern Russia between November 18 and 24, according to the WWF Vietnam.

Le Minh Quoc, 21, and Doan Hoang An, 25, were selected among more than 500 candidates to represent Vietnamese youths at the meeting.

Quoc is a student from the Information Technology Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences. He took part in multiple culture-exchange and extra-curriculum activities.

An graduated from the Saint Benedict University in the US. She participated in several international youth forums in the US and the United Arab Emirates.

They are scheduled to meet other young delegates from around the world, visit tiger habitat, attend seminars on the threats facing the species, and learn more about what can be done to protect them.

The main goal of the Summit is to develop a Youth Declaration on tiger conservation, which will be presented to the Heads of Government Tiger Summit, via video-conference between Vladivostok and St. Petersburg.

According to WWF, the International Youth Tiger Summit is another attempt to draw people's attention to the importance of conservation of the Amur tiger and other rare species, as well as to convey to all the idea that in order to save our planet everyone must help.
