The visit was conducted under the memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement in the field of information for the 2021–2025 period.
The 10-member delegation traveled to Vietnam from September 28 to October 4, 2025.
The purpose of the visit was to enhance cooperation and exchange in external communications, promote the image, culture, and people of both Vietnam and Cambodia, and share experiences in media digital transformation.
As part of the working agenda in Vietnam, the Cambodian delegation visited VietNamNet on October 3. Both parties exchanged insights and experiences related to the digitization of media operations.

Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Van Ba provided an overview of the outlet’s development journey.
He noted that over nearly 30 years, VietNamNet has evolved into one of the top five digital news agencies in Vietnam and now serves as the official media outlet of the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs and Religions.
Nguyen Van Ba highlighted the specific strategies and steps VietNamNet has implemented for successful digital transformation. These include shifting mindsets to practical action with a focus on key priorities.
Among them are enhancing data-driven content, applying advanced technology in content production, distribution, and management to increase efficiency and improve user experience, ensuring information security and transparency in editorial processes to build public trust, and restructuring the organization and workflows to adapt to the digital environment while promoting flexibility and creativity.

Vu Huyen Linh, Director of VietNamNet’s Marketing Center, presented the outlet’s long-term and comprehensive digital transformation strategy, built around three pillars: newsroom restructuring, datafication, and audience-centricity.
This transformation is reflected in the complete modernization of infrastructure, platforms, and content delivery methods.
VietNamNet has invested in building a smart, flexible content management system (CMS), developed multi-sensory content formats, and ensured optimal user experience across all devices.
As a result, the newsroom has undergone a significant transformation in its operations.
Sharing further insights, Nguyen Thai Khang, Head of Technology at VietNamNet, said that most operations have now been digitized.
Everything from newsroom management to journalist and editor workflows is carried out digitally, resulting in greater efficiency.
However, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, VietNamNet has moved from the concept of digital transformation to what it calls “AI transformation.”
Reporters, editors, and management have all been trained to integrate AI into their daily work.

During the meeting, the Cambodian journalists posed numerous questions about VietNamNet’s target audiences, its digital transformation process, and strategies for attracting readers in the current era of rapid technological advancement.
Speaking on behalf of the Cambodian delegation, In Chhay expressed his gratitude to VietNamNet for the warm welcome and valuable experience shared.
He emphasized that this visit offered a valuable opportunity to learn how regional media agencies integrate digital technologies to enhance competitiveness and serve public interests in the new information era.
