Vietnam’s COVID-19 infections cases surpass 44,000 hinh anh 1

Among the locally-infected cases, 1,349 were recorded in Ho Chi Minh City - the country's current largest pandemic hotspot, 146 in Tien Giang, 113 in Binh Duong, 92 in Dong Thap, 39 in Da Nang, 33 in Tay Ninh, 22 in Phu Yen, 15 in Hung Yen, 13 in Vinh Long, 11 in Can Tho, 10 in Nghe An, nine in Binh Thuan, seven in Bac Ninh, four in Quang Ngai, three each in Ninh Thuan, Binh Phuoc and Hanoi, two each in Tra Vinh, Ca Mau and Bac Giang, and one each in Thanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Lao Cai, Dak Lak and Vinh Phuc.

Of the total, 1,665 cases were detected in quarantine facilities or sealed-off areas.

The new cases raised the total number of infections recorded in the past 24 hours to 3,336, including 3,321 domestic infections of them 2,420 found in Ho Chi Minh City alone.

On the day, the country reported 18 more COVID-19 deaths, raising its total death toll to 225, and an additional 332 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 10,020.

Among the active patients, 267 tested negative for the coronavirus once, 116 twice and 118 thrice.

A total of 4,185,623 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far, with 3,890,947 people getting the first shot and 294,676 others fully receiving two jabs./.
