The ceramic mosaic, named 'Hanoi Spring with Lotte Center', is 11.64 metres high and 11 metres wide and is made up of hundreds of thousands of tiny ceramic bricks (size 2cmx2cm). The work of art was completed after four months of being crafted by artists from Tan Hanoi Art Company.

The mosaic features an overview of traditional and modern Hanoi centred on Van Mieu (Temple of Literature), the first university of Vietnam, built in 1057, which is also the symbol of knowledge and the long-standing education tradition of the capital city.

The high side is the icon of a flying dragon of the Ly Dynasty. The foreground of the work depicts cherry and lotus flowers, two characteristic flowers in Hanoi, and the images of Hanoian girls.

The mosaic also features many traditional architectural works in Hanoi such as Chua Mot Cot (One Pillar Pagoda), Ngoc Son Temple, Tran Vu Pagoda, Quang Chuong Gate, the Old Quarter and Dong Xuan market, among others.

The ceramic mosaic is said to help promote Hanoi's traditional beauty and help visitors understanding the source of artistic inspiration for architects to create the Lotte building. It is also believed to contribute to developing the friendly relationship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
