Vietnamese entrant Hoang Hanh is set to wear an Ao Dai, a traditional long dress, which features beautiful flower patterns when she competes in the national costume segment of Miss Earth 2019.
Designed by Nguyen Minh Tuan, it has taken one month to complete the outfit.
Designer Minh Tuan has selected the lotus as a prominent feature of the outfit due its significance in Vietnamese culture, as well as being a good introduction of the nation to international friends.
The costume’s highlight is the eye-catching 5,000 crystals which are used as accessories.
In addition, the Ao Dai has also been decorated with six lotus petals to show strength and power.
A painting detailing the landscapes found in the country’s northwestern region and a lotus pond can also be seen on the outfit.
Hoang Hanh, 27, stands at 1.76 metres tall with measurements of 88-63-94. She has previous experience taking part in pageants having finished as the first runner-up at Miss Asia Beauty 2017.
The grand final of Miss Earth 2019 is scheduled to be held on October 26 in the Philippines, with 85 contestants taking part. The winner will succeed Miss Earth 2018, Vietnam’s Phuong Khanh.
