VietNamNet Bridge – The Hanoi Museum was inaugurated last October, but will complete content designs and have sufficient exhibits in early 2014. The current showrooms arrangements are temporary.

After being approved, scheduled in June, the detailed design project will be implemented for another one and a half of years. Until January 2014, the museum will have enough exhibits.
The museum director Nguyen Van Hung, admitted that with around 60,000 exhibits, which are mainly in warehouses; Hanoi’s history is not introduced completely.
“The current display is temporary, so we don’t employ costly technical methods like making mock-ups, etc, but use traditional methods,” Hung explained about the present simple way of display.
Responding to a newspaper’s report that the country’s most modern and expensive museum doesn’t have a luggage room, Hung said the museum has just bought six cabinets.
The Hanoi Construction Department’s vice chief, Le Van Duc, said that the total investment in this museum is over VND2 trillion (roughly $118 million). From now to 2014, an additional VND760 billion ($38 million) is needed to finalize the display, raising the total fund for this work to nearly VND2.8 trillion ($156 million).
According to the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the museum has welcomed more than 600,000 visitors.
The Ministry of Construction in early May decided to inspect two big projects in Hanoi, the Hanoi Museum and the Hoa Binh Park, which were implemented by the Hanoi Department of Construction. Both projects were built to welcome Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary, which felt in October 2010.
