VietNamNet Bridge – The largest private weapon museum is one of the 12 Vietnamese records that were announced by the Vietnam Record Book Center last week.
The museum is established by Robert Taylor and Nguyen Thi Bong under a decision dated September 2010 of Ba Ria-Vung Tau authorities.
The 1,500sq.m museum displays 1,200 guns, 1,000 fences, 500 mannequins wearing military uniforms of many countries in previous centuries. The museum is located at 14, Ha Long Road, Ward 2, Vung Tau city.
Robert Taylor is a British man who has been living in Vung Tau since 1991. Taylor began collecting weapons and military uniforms of many countries, particularly European nations, since he was 19 years old. After retirement, he decided to build a private arms museum in Vung Tau city. The museum has been recognized as the largest private weapon museum in Vietnam.

2. The 1,200 page “Dai Nam Quoc am tu vi”, compiled by Huynh Tinh Cua in 1880 is the first dictionary in Quoc ngu (scripts of the national language).

3. A 234sq.m kite made by Pham Van Lanh, Chairman of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau kite club is recognized as the largest Vietnam-shaped kite. This kite was made in 2009 and introduced at the 2nd Kite Festival of the same year.

4. The 40-ha Ho May-Nui Lon tourist zone in Vung Tau city on Tuong Ky mount in Vung Tau, around 250m over the sea, is recognized as the eco-tourism zone on mountain with largest artificial lakes. The tourist site has two artificial lakes with a total capacity of 10,000cu.m.
