VietNamNet Bridge - Last night (September 20) the Vietnam international technology and equipment market 2012 (Techmart) opened with more than 500 stalls. This is the largest Techmart ever.

According to the organizers, Techmart 2012 has 520 pavilions, including 32 foreign stalls, offering 3,000 technology, software products and support services.
The foreign attendees came from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Laos, China, Korea, Japan, the EU and Russia.
Products introduced at the fair are mainly the areas of biotechnology, clean energy and renewable energy, new materials, electric-automation, food processing technology and beverages, information technology and science and technology for rural development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan praised the agencies that involve in organizing Techmart 2012. He also stressed the important role of science and technology.
"Developing the science and technology market is the great policy the Party and State in order to spread knowledge and technology transfer, contributing to enhance the technological innovation capability of enterprises and the competitiveness of the economy, while enhancing the cohesion of scientific research and development with production and business," said Deputy Prime Minister Nhan.
According to the Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan, Techmart 2012 is expanded in the scope and it initial implements socialization through sharing responsibility in the organization between the state, organizations and enterprises.
The Minister said: "Techmart 2012 is the opportunity to honor the energy and creativity of the science and technology sector, especially the scientists who have entrepreneurial spirit, the entrepreneurs that love science and technology, organizations and individuals who are passionate in innovative technology.
Techmart will close on September 23. On the sidelines of the fair will have several workshops with hot topics which are the concerns of Vietnam, ASEAN and the world, such as clean technology, food security and energy security, and intellectual property.
