Spain continues to be the top team in the world, followed by Germany and Uruguay, the Netherlands and Portugal. The only change in the top ten is the move of Argentina to the 9th position.
In the top 50, there is no change. Europe still contributes up to 28 representatives, followed by South America with nine teams, Africa with seven and Asia with three.
In Asia, Australia tops the list, the second and third positions belong to Japan and the Republic of Korea, respectively.
In Southeast Asia, Vietnam still ranks first (97th), followed by Thailand (141st), the Philippines (148th), Indonesia (151st) and Malaysia (153rd).
However, the ranking list will change strongly when the Euro 2012 will take place. At the same time, the qualifier round of the World Cup 2014 will be held in other continents.
The next FIFA rankings will be announced in June 2012.
As scheduled, on June 8 Vietnam’s national football team will compete with the Chinese team for an international friendly match. Two days later they will meet a team from Hong Kong (China). The results of the two matches are forecast to affect Vietnam’s position in the July rankings.
